Description
The Diesel Technician specializes in the repair and maintenance of diesel-powered vehicles, such as trucks, buses, and heavy equipment that come through the service drive at our dealership.
Responsibilities
Technical Expertise :
Diagnose and repair complex diesel engine problems, including fuel systems, emissions systems, and electrical components.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and brake inspections.
Stay up-to-date with the latest diesel engine technology and repair techniques.
Customer Service :
Communicate with customers about the status of their vehicle repairs.
Ensure customer satisfaction by providing high-quality service.
Administrative Tasks :
Complete necessary paperwork, including repair orders and work estimates.
Manage inventory of parts and supplies.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Demonstrates a high "HQ" (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
Education : High school diploma or equivalent.
Certifications : Technical certification or diploma in diesel mechanics.
Experience : 2 years experience as an automotive diesel technician.
Skills :
Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components.
Ability to diagnose and repair complex diesel engine problems.
Ability to use diagnostic equipment and tools.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
Ability to work in a noisy and sometimes dirty environment.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Good eyesight and hearing.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
