Description
The Shuttle Driver is responsible for providing courteous and safe transportation for dealership customers to and from their desired locations while their vehicles are being serviced. This role is crucial in enhancing customer satisfaction and ensuring a smooth service experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Customer Transportation:
- Transport customers to and from their homes, workplaces, or other designated locations in a safe and timely manner.
- Assist customers with entering and exiting the shuttle vehicle.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Ensure the shuttle vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and in safe operating condition.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or concerns to the service manager.
- Perform routine vehicle checks, such as fluid levels and tire pressure.
- Route Management:
- Plan and follow efficient routes to minimize delays and maximize customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, including customer names, destinations, and times.
- Utilize GPS and other navigation tools as needed.
- Communication:
- Maintain clear and effective communication with the service department and customers.
- Inform the service department of any delays or changes in schedule.
- Adherence to Policies:
- Comply with all traffic laws and dealership policies.
- Maintain a clean driving record.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to operate a variety of vehicles, including those with automatic and manual transmissions.
- Knowledge of the local area.
- Ability to use GPS and other navigation tools.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently.
- Ability to assist customers with entering and exiting vehicles, which may require bending, stooping, and lifting.
- Ability to perform occasional light maintenance checks on vehicles, which may require bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Ability to withstand varying weather conditions.
