Description
As an Title Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all title-related processes within the dealership, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves coordinating title transfers, lien releases, and other documentation while maintaining accurate records and providing exceptional customer service. You will ensure a seamless experience for our guests and directly impact whether we become their favorite place to purchase, lease, or service their vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Hire, train, and manage title department staff
- Examine sales/car deal contracts to assure conformity to specified requirements
- Verify all documents are signed and completed properly
- Prepares legal transfer documents for the Department of Licensing and out of state transactions.
- Ensure the overall accuracy and completion of WA Department of Licensing transactions
- Process paperwork on a timely basis
- Ensure that name and address files are updated on an ongoing basis
- Manage accurate title inventory
- Apply for all out of state titles
- Process all out of state licensing
- Maintain an accurate and up to date licensing schedule
- Maintain an accurate and up to date wholesale/dealer trade receivable schedule
- Follow up on status of vehicle titles and reconcile monies collected for DMV versus amounts paid
- Obey all DMV compliance filings and stay abreast of all DOL regulations, changes, and laws.
- Handle all customer, vendor and DOL complaints
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
- 5 years of automotive titling experience required including with multiple states and out-of-state transactions.
- 2 years of management experience required.
- Knowledge of Reynolds & Reynolds DMS preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Ability to read and comprehend instruction and information
- Understand deadlines and apply an appropriate sense of urgency and prioritization to all tasks
- Professional appearance and work ethic
- Strong attention to detail
- Team-oriented and comfortable in an open office
Physical Requirements:
- Standing and walking: Title managers often need to move around the dealership, interacting with customers, sales representatives, and other staff.
- Lifting and carrying: This could involve moving files, paperwork, or occasionally assisting with vehicle-related tasks (e.g., moving keys or documents).
- Sitting for extended periods: Much of the role involves working at a desk, reviewing documents, and using computers.
