Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Experienced Dialysis Technicians to join our team of medical professionals caring for dialysis patients at our clinics in the greater Seattle area. Patient care is our top priority—we train patients to do dialysis at home, provide the very best care in our dialysis centers and contracted local hospitals, and bring kidney-health messages to at-risk members of our community. This is a chronic, in-center position that would cover multiple locations (Bremerton, Poulsbo, Port Orchard, Port Townsend).
The Dialysis Technician provides care for renal dialysis patients, following specific protocols, under the supervision of an PSKC Registered Staff Nurse.
Required Certifications
- Current CHT or CCHT certification.
- Current Washington State MA-HT certification, or able to obtain.
- Current CPR with BLS certification with American Heart Association required.
- Previous dialysis experience required.
Duties
- Prepare and maintain dialysis machines and equipment for patient use.
- Monitor patients during dialysis treatment, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Administer treatments according to established protocols while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Collect and record patient data, including vital signs and laboratory results.
- Educate patients about the dialysis process, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety and infection control guidelines.
Skills
- Proficient in aseptic technique to prevent infection during procedures.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dialysis treatment.
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology as it relates to kidney function and dialysis.
- Ability to effectively dialyze patients while monitoring their health status throughout the process.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate data collection and adherence to protocols.
