Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee and lead the nursing team at our healthcare facility in Bridgeville, PA. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, a commitment to providing high-quality patient care, and expertise in nursing administration. This temporary 5-week assignment offers a guaranteed 40-hour work week with consistent day shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and supervision to the nursing team, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with facility policies.
- Oversee daily nursing operations, including staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans, policies, and procedures in line with regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor patient care to ensure optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Conduct audits and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including infection control and quality assurance standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care strategies for residents.
- Serve as a liaison between the nursing team, families, and administration.
- Address and resolve any clinical or administrative issues that arise during the contract period.
QualificationsLicenses and Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania (required).
- Director of Nursing Certification (preferred).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or equivalent (preferred).
- Compliance with Pennsylvania state background checks and health screenings.
Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role as a DON or equivalent.
- Proven experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing facility settings.
Skills
- Strong organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in nursing software and electronic health records (EHR).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with staff, residents, and families.
- Thorough understanding of state and federal healthcare regulations.
