Duties
- Assess patients' health status through comprehensive physical examinations and medical histories.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and preferences.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition, documenting changes accurately.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients in various settings including nursing homes and home community care.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions from hospital to home or other care facilities.
- Provide pain management strategies tailored to individual patient needs.
- Stay informed about current practices in occupational health, workers compensation law, and relevant regulations.
Skills
- Proficient in IV insertion techniques and administration of medications.
- Knowledgeable in dermal fillers and botulinum toxin treatment for aesthetic procedures is a plus.
- Strong understanding of discharge planning processes to facilitate effective patient transitions.
- Experience in travel nursing is advantageous for flexible assignments across various locations.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
