Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As an ICU nurse, you will be responsible for monitoring critically ill patients, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient conditions continuously.
- Administer medications and IV fluids as prescribed, ensuring proper IV insertion techniques.
- Perform catheterization and other necessary procedures while maintaining sterile processing protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately in medical records.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in acute care nursing; ICU experience preferred.
- Proficiency in vital signs monitoring and catheterization techniques.
- Familiarity with hospital medicine systems and sterile processing standards.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Experience in long-term care or travel nursing is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to handle high-stress situations with professionalism and compassion.
