Job Title: OBU/L&D Registered Nurse (RN)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Weekly Hours: 36 (Flexible shifts required)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Obstetric and Neonatal Care to join our team for a 13-week contract. The role focuses on Labor & Delivery (L&D), Postpartum care, and supporting our Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI). The average monthly volume includes 40 deliveries and 6 C-sections.
As part of the team, you may occasionally cover as a charge nurse after completing the necessary training. Floating to other departments may also be required based on your qualifications and competencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional care for patients in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum rooms, and ensure babies room in with their mothers as per BFHI guidelines.
- Manage an average volume of 40 deliveries and 6 C-sections per month.
- Serve as a charge nurse on occasion, following appropriate training.
- Float to other qualified departments, performing patient care or task-oriented responsibilities such as answering call lights and phones as needed.
Qualifications:Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery or related specialties.
Certifications:
- American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) OR ALSO (Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- Substitution: RNC-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) may replace AWHONN FHM certification.
Additional Notes:
- Travelers may need to float to other departments, which may involve taking patient assignments if experienced and competent or assisting with task-based duties.
- A flexible shift schedule is required to meet the needs of the department.
