Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Critical Care/ICU-CCU Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in West Burlington, IA. As an ICU-CCU RN, you will deliver high-quality patient care by utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in collaboration with other healthcare team members. This role involves providing exceptional care for patients with various conditions, including adult cardiac/telemetry, stroke, vascular intervention, and hemodynamic monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care to patients in the ICU/CCU, including adult cardiac/telemetry, stroke, vascular intervention, and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation) to ensure high-quality care.
- Interact effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team while maintaining high professional nursing standards.
- Float to other units as required, maintaining flexibility in assignment.
- Study telemetry strips independently upon acceptance of the assignment. Complete a Basic Dysrhythmia test-out during the first week, which must be passed to work in ICU-CCU units.
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:3-4 and deliver safe, quality care under these conditions.
- Document patient care and progress using Cerner EMR.
- Expected workweek of 36 hours with potential for overtime.
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN License in the state of Iowa.
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
- Strong critical care experience in ICU/CCU, including telemetry, stroke, and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Must pass the Basic Dysrhythmia test during the first week of the assignment to work on ICU-CCU units.
- Ability to float to other units as needed.
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred.
