Job Summary:
We are seeking skilled and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) for 10 positions in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on a 13-week contract with rotating shifts. The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with organizational policies, protocols, and standards. This role is critical in ensuring the best outcomes for our critically ill patients through collaboration, education, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care, developing individualized care plans based on assessment of physical, psychological, social, and developmental needs.
- Conduct daily patient rounds, ensuring all care requirements are met and resolving issues promptly to maintain quality and customer service.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including identifying early warning signs of deterioration, and intervene appropriately.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Provide patient and family education to promote understanding and ensure a safe discharge process.
- Document observations, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly.
- Assist in emergency measures, initiating life-saving protocols as required.
- Delegate tasks to team members based on their scope of practice, skills, and competence.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and complete incident reports as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the department's needs.
Qualifications:
- Licensure:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with an unencumbered nursing license in North Dakota or a Compact State.
- Temporary RN license accepted prior to start.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (American Heart Association) required within 90 days of start.
- Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (ECCO) certification preferred.
- Experience:
- Proven ability to deliver care to critically ill patients.
- Knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care based on patient population.
