Shifts Available:
- Day Shift – 12-hour shifts
- Night Shift – 12-hour shifts
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for an 8-week travel contract at a Long-Term Care (LTC) and Rehabilitation Center in Wrangell, AK. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to residents, coordinating treatment plans, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. This role requires strong clinical skills, leadership, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to residents in a long-term care and rehabilitation setting.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on individual needs.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.
- Monitor vital signs, changes in resident conditions, and responses to treatments.
- Ensure proper documentation of resident assessments, care plans, and progress notes in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Educate residents and families on disease management, treatment plans, and coping strategies.
- Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and other support staff.
- Coordinate patient care with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Implement infection control and safety measures in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Act as Charge Nurse when the Director of Nursing (DON) is not present.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education programs.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations.
Requirements:
✔ Active Alaska RN License (Must be valid at the time of submission)
✔ Minimum 1-2 years of LTC or Skilled Nursing experience required
✔ BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification – Required
✔ Flu Vaccine – Required (No exemptions)
✔ Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EHR) systems preferred
✔ Strong leadership, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
