Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical/Surgical/Telemetry travel assignment in West Burlington, IA. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, utilizing the nursing process in coordination with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. This role requires expertise in telemetry monitoring and the ability to effectively care for a diverse patient population, including geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, and telemetry patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips; self-study is required upon acceptance.
- Successfully pass a Basic Dysrhythmia Test during the first week of assignment (required to work on Telemetry/Med-Surg unit).
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Maintain high standards of professional nursing practice and ensure patient safety.
- Provide compassionate and effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Administer medications, treatments, and other procedures as required.
- Document all patient interactions and interventions accurately.
Requirements:
- Active RN license (State or Compact).
- ACLS certification required (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent Med/Surg and Telemetry experience preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work 36-hour workweeks with the potential for overtime.
