RN Operating Room

Name of Position Requirements:

2 years experience

Active ND or Compact RN License (willing to get)

General, Neuro, and Ortho Experience (required)

Active ACLS - highly preferred

Active BLS - must be AHA

Active PALS - highly preferred

Large hospital experience - 250 plus beds with level 1 trauma status

Experience working in acute facility with 25 or more OR suites. Outpatient center experience will not be a match.

Experience with robotics

Job Comments:
8 hour shifts - 40 hours per week. Will need to stay late as needed based on cases running over or scheduling.
This time is not considered call back.
Call on day a week and one weekend every 3 to 4 weeks.
Will work on the Neuro team.

Cannot take any travelers living within a 60 mile radius of the facility. Local travel rate for those living 60 to 80 miles from the facility

Job Description:
General job duties. Types of procedures required.

Circulating nurses who will document and care for patients in the operative setting. This included sterile prepping of surgical sites, catheter insertion, opening sterile supplies, postioning patients for surgical procedures, documenting within an electronic record, and ultilizing/ setting up operating room equipment as directed.

Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.

Computerized charting modeling after the EPIC system, Accudose, cautery, lasers, laparscopic equipment, arthoscopy equipment, Stealth navigation for Nuero cases.

Required skills and minimum years of experience.

Experience with General surgical cases, GYN, Urology, laparoscopic.

Neuro/Ortho procedures, experience with navigation.

Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.

BLS, RN ND or Compact license

Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)

Shifts will rotate between 0630-1500, 0900-1700, 1100-1900, and call shifts which are 1100-1900 with call to follow. No nights or weekend call. Travelers are expected to run a room with resources available.

Dress Code:

surgical attire provided. No acrylic nails at all, must be completely bare and natural.

Surgical services uses an oreitnation program consisting of 4-6 months. Once the staff member comes off oreination it is anticpated that all core cases and special team cases can be performed with expected outcomes.

Additional Comments:

Registered nurses for this request do need to have prior ortho/neuro experience.
