The Regional Sales Director is responsible for growing the Swig Life brand by leading and managing a region of agency partners and independent sales representatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales management within the gift and home industry, with proven experience managing both independent reps and direct sales teams. About The Role
The Regional Sales Director is responsible for growing the Swig Life brand by leading and managing a region of agency partners and independent sales representatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales management within the gift and home industry, with proven experience managing both independent reps and direct sales teams. Leadership, relationship-building skills, and a strong understanding of market trends are key to success in this role.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and inspire a region of Swig’s National team of independent sales representatives to exceed revenue and growth targets. Optimize market share, sales territories, and profitability by motivating reps to consistently build strong relationships with Swig customers across the US both on the road and at shows.
- Conduct monthly reviews with sales representatives to identify opportunities for growth, resolve challenges, and reduce customer attrition. Lead in-field ride-alongs with sales representatives to provide on-the-ground coaching, drive sales, and strengthen retailer relationships through hands-on guidance and support.
- Coach and manage new business to reach new story type verticals as Swig expands category scope.
- Develop sales trainings and strategies to support new product launches throughout the year, as well as enhance onboarding and training materials.
- Conduct monthly customer outreach to build and maintain strategic relationships with existing priority retail partners as well as identify new customers and develop those relationships. Implement training best practices for new agencies to ensure consistency and successful ramp-up.
- Monitor and report on weekly, monthly and quarterly sales performance, presenting findings to management and agency partners. Identify areas for improvement and propose corrective actions or adjustments to business plans based on data and analysis.
- Prepare business reviews for weekly and bi-weekly agency reviews, utilizing raw data from NetSuite to consistently analyze business performance and communicate key performance metrics. Responsible for forecasting and budgeting at both the agency and rep level on an annual basis.
- Stay informed about industry trends, consumer preferences, competitor activity, and new product innovations within the drinkware and lifestyle sectors. Use market intelligence to identify growth opportunities and refine sales strategies.
- Ensure Swig Life’s high standards of customer service are maintained across all touchpoints. Ensure smooth communication with reps and customers while resolving any issues to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Travel up to 30% of the time, including some nights/weekends to trade shows, retail partners, customer appointments, etc.
- 5 years of Sales management experience, ideally within the gift, home, or lifestyle industry. Experience in driving revenue growth and developing market strategies across diverse retail environments is a must.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage both independent sales representatives and direct sales teams, balancing the unique dynamics and needs of each group to maximize performance and territory coverage.
- Strong ability to inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing sales teams. Skilled in providing strategic direction while fostering a positive, performance-driven team culture.
- History of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets through proactive strategy development, account expansion, and effective sales execution.
- Proficient in CRM platforms, particularly NetSuite, with the ability to analyze performance data, generate insights, and make informed business decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities with a knack for juggling multiple priorities, managing timelines, and coordinating across departments.
- Comfortable navigating a dynamic sales landscape. Quick to adapt to shifting market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive environments to stay ahead and drive innovation.
