What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Lifeguard position at SWIM CLUB MANAGEMENT GROUP?
The Head Lifeguard is an employee that has been identified for having strong leadership skills. Head Guard utilize their leadership skills to aid the Assistant Pool Manager in maintaining company and facility standards while providing training and oversight to the less experienced seasonal staff members. These standards are taught through Swim Club Management Group Orientation, Regional Director oversight, Pool Manger oversight, and Assistant Pool Manager oversight. The expectations set forth for the Head Guard are to provide leadership development on a personal and professional level.
The Head Guard will work directly with the Assistant Pool Manger and provide oversight to the lifeguards to ensure a successful summer by keeping the facility safe, clean, and fully operational while overseeing and training seasonal staff, enforcing pool rules, and handling patron relations.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must have at least 1 year of Lifeguard Experience
- Must have a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard/ CPR/ First Aid/ AED Certification
- Must attend SCMG’s Traditions Training and On-site Training before the first day of work
Job Specific Expectations:
- Assist the Assistant Facility Director with all tasks related to the staff and facility management
- Provide oversight, training, and mentorship to lifeguards
- Serve as the main point of contact for patrons, staff, Assistant Facility Director, Facility Director, and Regional Directors during shift
- Ensure the facility is always being kept and managed to SCMG and client standards
Exemplify Knowledge and Leadership to staff members in the below areas:
- Must attend 1 Inservice Training a month
- Teaching and Explaining Zone Rotations when Facility Director and Assistant Facility Director are not present
- Properly Maintaining Facility Cleanliness (trash night, bathroom checks, etc.)
- Operating Pool Vacuum
- Basic Facility Operations (member check-in, guest policy, pool hours, etc.)
- Basic Safety Operations (thunder & lightning policy, water contamination policy)
- Facility Rules (slide, diving board, etc.)
- SCMG Operations (swim lesson & pool party sign-ups, phone policy, etc.)
- All other facility-specific needs deemed important by a Full-Time staff member or your Facility Director/Assistant Facility Director
