Lead the development, progressing, and tracking of pre-construction and all construction schedules including self-perform work. Perform delay and productivity changes and claims to maintain timely and profitable job completion.
Job Description:
Able to perform all essential Assistant Project Controls responsibilities
o Understand our financial system and managing costs
o Monitor project costs, track actual expenditures against budget, and identify cost overruns
o Collaborate with project managers and accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial
reporting
o Perform the preparation, presenting, and negotiating change orders and claims as needed
o Understand, communicate, and track contract project controls and scheduling requirements
o Understand and communicate our Self-Perform dashboards, KPIs with the team as required
o Assist in identifying and assessing project risks, evaluating their potential impact on project objectives,
and proposing risk mitigation strategies
o Support our teams improving our dashboards, KPIs, trends, etc.
o Collaborate with project managers to develop contingency plans and monitor their implementation
o Continuously monitor and evaluate project performance indicators, identify trends, and recommend
corrective actions as necessary
o Support the development of delay and productivity claims for project teams
o Develop and support our teams improving our dashboards, KPIs, trends, etc.
o Prepare, update, and validate quality of preconstruction and baseline schedules and narratives
o Understand, review, and track project schedules utilizing industry-standard software
o Identify critical path activities and maintain an accurate and up-to-date schedule
o Conduct regular reviews to identify potential schedule delays, conflicts, or scope changes, and propose
mitigation strategies
o Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure proper integration and alignment of project
controls with financial reporting processes
o Review project schedules for completeness and adherence to company standards
o Develop and implement project controls plans and procedures to ensure projects are executed
efficiently and effectively
o Conduct regular audits of project documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and
industry standards
o Follow P6 database management company best practices
o Complete other responsibilities as assigned
Minimum Requirements or Experience Requirements
o Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree, or equivalent
o 7 years of construction experience including 5 years Project Controls experience, or equivalent
combination of education and experience
o 2+ Experience in scheduling and productivity claims is a plus
o Demonstrated experience with construction-related scheduling Critical Path Method
o Working knowledge of construction methods and processes
o Familiarity with job cost information
o Proficiency with P6 Professional
o Proficiency with Microsoft Suite & Bluebeam
o Proficiency in reading and understanding contracts, plans, and specifications
o Understanding of construction cost accounting
o Experience in scheduling and productivity claims, a plus
o Able to read and understand plans and specifications
o Working knowledge of virtual construction technology systems
