Job Title: Assistant Store Manager
Department: Swinomish Convenience Enterprises
Reports to: Store Manager
Direct reports: Retail Clerks, Supervisor – Cashier, Cashier
Summary:
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for facilitating the efficient functioning of the office and store through a range of administrative, clerical, financial and managerial tasks and supports company operations by maintaining workplace systems and supervising staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Assistant Store Manager:
- Oversee and supervise all employees when store director is not in building.
- Audit and enter all daily paperwork compiled by Supervisor’s into SSCS system.
- Audits and balances all invoices scanned in by receiving clerk.
- Tracks and manages all billing and deposits for store A/R accounts.
- Manage and balance all change boxes, safes and cash validator for store.
- Prepare and coordinate daily paperwork cash drops for accuracy and deposit into store account.
- Assess and input all payments from vendors and other revenue sources into correct SSCS departments to ensure accounts are balanced and up to date.
- Prepare all vendor and revenue payments for deposit into store account.
- Empty lottery machine cash box and prepare money for pick up by armored transport company for secure deposit into store account.
- Assemble paperwork for delivery from store to Accounting on a weekly basis.
- Compose paperwork for disciplinary purposes for employees with cash shortages, attendance issues and other store policy and procedures infractions.
- Have all monthly paperwork, invoices and deposits input and completed by the sixth of the following month for review and finalization by administrative personnel.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Assistant Store Manager:
- Keeps informational journal on all incidents for Store Manager to periodically review.
- Handles maintenance calls as needed.
- Works with supervisor’s and store personnel to cover employee shifts when unexpected shortages arise.
- Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, etc. for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must have excellent cash handling and customer service skills.
- Must be willing to obtain a Washington State Food Handlers permit
Other Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to proficiently and safely operate propane fuel dispenser.
Requirements:
- Must have strong computer and software aptitude.
- Must have proficient knowledge of office equipment use.
- Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have excellent cash handling and customer service skills.
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service.
- Able to read, write, and perform simple math problems.
- Able to interpret, understand, and follow instructions and solve problems.
- Must pass criminal background check and oral drug screen.
