Roll Shafter 3rd Shift | Full time temp to hire

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Roll Shafter??to join our corrugated manufacturing team. This role is critical to the corrugator operation, responsible for safely and accurately removing spent rolls, preparing new rolls, and securing them onto the splicer shafts. Candidates must have experience in roll shafting in a corrugated plant and a strong understanding of machine safety and efficiency. Contract to Hire.

Essential Job Functions:

• Remove empty paper rolls??from the corrugator machine and properly dispose of or stage cores.
• Stage, prep, and install new rolls??of paper onto the corrugator splicers, ensuring proper alignment and tension.
• Assist with threading the paper web??through the machine during roll changes.
• Operate hoists, roll carts, or mechanical assist devices??to safely handle and load large paper rolls.
• Perform quality checks??to ensure proper roll orientation, paper grade, and job specs are met.
• Communicate with operators and material handlers??to ensure continuous production and minimize downtime.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas??around the roll stands and splicer units.
• Document roll usage and report defective materials??or equipment issues to the lead or supervisor.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Prior roll shafting experience in the corrugated or paper industry??is required.
• Comfortable working around high-speed machines and large industrial paper rolls.
• Strong attention to detail, safety, and production flow.
• Physically able to lift, push, and position rolls weighing up to [insert weight if needed].
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
