What does a Manufacturing Line Shift Lead do at Swire Coca-Cola?Part of a high performing team that is engaged and committed to World Class Manufacturing performance, ensuring that the safety of our people always comes first, while building a line culture of continuous improvement with a focus on zero operational defects and losses. The incumbent, in conjunction with the other team functional leaders, has shift accountability of the manufacturing line results including safety, quality, reliability, production attainment, productivity, and costs. This includes setting and leading shift daily direction setting, planned stops and action plans to attack and reduce losses. An effective Line Shift Leader sets high expectations and standards, coaches, holds the team to these standards and ensures that every person on the team understands the results expected. Owns equipment and DMS (Daily Management Systems). Receives and gives coaching. The Line Shift Leader ensures that every person on the team understands the feedback from the DDS (Daily Direction Setting), the results from the previous shift and the results expected for their shift. Confirms the production sequence and change over plan for their shift and allocates staff to their workstation and the planned stop during the shift.
Job Details:Schedule: 9pm - 5:30am (Mon - Fri, OT and weekends as needed)Responsibilities:
Ensure their shift team complies with the company Safety and Quality procedures
Coach, train and develop the shift team. Work with the line functional team to determine root cause and solve line losses and performance outages
Owner of Line shift DDS process including shift to shift handover; ensure team creates robust plan for planned stop and all team members have clearly defined roles and actions for delivering the results for the current and next shift. Communicate DDS line, department, and plant direction to teams
Team Development: Work with the Manufacturing Line Manager to plan and execute training for the team. Coach team on how to own their skill profile to feed needs into training plans
Work with other Line Shift leaders to resolve staffing issues or coordinate staffing across the shift, follow escalation process for any areas that are identified as critical. For example, serious issues regarding safety, quality, or breakdowns
Know plant standards around safety, break-time, quality, vacation scheduling, overtime management, absenteeism, etc. Provide constructive feedback and rewards, role model solid behaviors in these areas
Build own technical skills and help the Manufacturing Line Manager and Technical Specialists set priorities to maximize process reliability/uptime results and loss reduction
Ensure all shift documentation, SOP processes and orders are completed per standard
Requirements:
High School Diploma (or GED) required
2 years working as production/machine operator required
Experience in high-speed food manufacturing and / or working knowledge of bottling operations
Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial technology. Food manufacturing experience preferred
Ability to perform essential functions with little or no supervision
