Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and optimize the warehouse team by fostering cohesion and defining roles to achieve common objectives.
- Create, manage, and deliver training for standard operating procedures to drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee and manage the execution of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Monitor and control warehouse operating costs to ensure efficiency.
- Manage off-site warehouse operations, coordinating in/out requirements with purchasing and scheduling resources as needed.
- Function as the primary liaison with third-party logistics providers, establishing lane and rate strategies with carriers.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify synergies that enhance overall warehouse effectiveness.
- Ensure process compliance and accuracy within the warehouse management system.
- Maintain and update company procedures for shipping, receiving, and inventory management, ensuring documentation is current and processes are adhered to.
- Optimize intralogistics processes to improve material flow within the facility, from goods receipt through production staging to shipping.
- Implement and manage internal material handling systems (e.g., conveyors, automated storage, and retrieval systems) to maximize efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Analyze and streamline material flow paths, ensuring seamless integration between warehouse operations and production schedules.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring just-in-time (JIT) delivery of materials to production lines.
- Develop strategies to reduce internal handling times and improve throughput across warehouse and production areas.
- Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to ensure alignment between material availability and manufacturing requirements.
- Maintain and optimize intralogistics KPIs, such as lead time, material handling costs, and process cycle times.
- Monitor and uphold the integrity of departmental metrics to track performance.
- Oversee the disposition process for B Grade, recycled, or scrap materials.
- Ensure compliance with all S-K QMS (Quality Management System) and safety procedures related to warehouse operations.
- Report faulty equipment to maintenance and ensure timely repairs are completed.
- Maintain a clean, orderly warehouse environment and ensure all equipment is properly maintained.
- Provide recommendations for capital projects or warehouse equipment upgrades to support business needs.
- Participate in regular staff and safety meetings to review warehouse metrics, assess the achievement of company quality goals, and address operational issues.
- Review training records and ensure all warehouse staff have completed required training.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the business.
- 5 years of progressive experience in warehouse management, including 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of logistics industry regulations, practices, and standards.
- Effective logistics negotiation skills with proven success in optimizing shipping and transportation agreements.
- Proven expertise in warehouse operations and organization, productivity metrics, and inventory control.
- Excellent leadership and team development skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with above-average abilities in Excel and Word.
- Experience utilizing an ERP system (SAP preferred).
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3 years of experience with SAP and MRP systems desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration across teams.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs.
- Reliable and able to consistently meet commitments.
- Willingness to be available for consultation after hours or on weekends, as required.
- Candidate will be exposed to loud noise that may exceed 87 decibels.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and walk and talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, ambient air, temperature extremes, combustible dust fumes or airborne particles, traffic, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally high in specific areas.

- Proficiency in German would enable interaction with another Procurement Manager in Swiss Krono Group (not required)
- Work location is Barnwell, SC, USA. This job operates in a manufacturing environment.
