Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surveyor to join our solar team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting roof surveys, preparing accurate drawings, and providing essential data for SOLAR projects.
Responsibilities
- Site Surveyor and will be an integral member of the team focused on developing consistent processes
- This role is responsible for measuring roof planes, property lines and obstructions concerning the placement of photovoltaic panels
- Their duties include driving to and from prospective sites, using specialized equipment to measure mounting boundaries and creating maps or charts for plan designers to review
- Be able to effectively communicate with customers during the initial face to face greeting and/or on the phone
- Inspect roofs for structural integrity
- Retrieving photos of Job sites
- Verifying paperwork matches job site description
- Occasionally transport materials and equipment to job sites
- Be able to effectively communicate with the office scheduling team
- Fill out, by hand and or computer site survey sheets needed by the Engineering department to produce permit-ready documents, uploading data to the project management system
- Use measurements of surveying equipment to determine property lines and boundaries
- Follow a schedule to ensure customer satisfaction and production
- Upload information and details of a job site to plan designers
- Capable of working at heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders and stairs, and performing repetitive duties such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time
- Maneuver through Attics
- Be able to use company tools and equipment provided such as hand tools, measuring devices, etc
- Ability to succeed in a fast paced, community environment
- Arrive at work as needed as early as 7:00am and comfortable with various working hours , including weekends sometimes
- Surveyors will spend the majority of their time traveling to and from site visits
- Strict adherence to any and all local driving laws is a must
- Proficiency in land surveying techniques and equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic roofing knowledge
- Understanding of solar PV equipment and installation standards
- Basic knowledge of residential electrical and structural systems
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients. Bilingual English/Spanish big plus
- Must have a drone, ladders, safety equipment, and own transportation
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $159.22 - $173.77 per day
