Key Responsibilities
- Perform cardiac ultrasound examinations as ordered by the physician, utilizing various ultrasound equipment.
- Identify the presence or absence of disease based on knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Assist physicians with invasive echocardiography examinations, including but not limited to Transesophageal echocardiography, contrast-enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography, and echo-guided procedures.
- Modify procedures as needed to meet special circumstances or provide clinically useful information in a cost-effective manner.
- Maintain and demonstrate knowledge of current technologies, best practices, and industry standards in echocardiography.
- Certification as a Sonographer upon hire.
- National Registered Cardiac Sonographer or equivalent credentials upon hire.
- National Provider BLS upon hire.
- Associate's degree in Applied Science from an accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- One year of experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations, or a minimum of 800 exams using all imaging modalities available.
- Pediatric echocardiography experience.
- Familiarity with imaging support for advanced heart failure patients (mechanical support devices).
- Experience with echo-guided trans-catheter procedures.
