Principal Accountabilities
- Maintain process reliability and adhere to industry standards and specifications.
- Operate standard maintenance tools, including power tools, hand tools, and electrical testing equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance, including annual PMs.
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Follow safety policies and procedures, ensuring safe work environments and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues independently.
- Follow prescribed safety rules and departmental policies, while helping develop proper safety techniques.
- Use precision instruments to identify issues with mechanical devices in operation.
- Certify in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and identify follow-up work required.
- Gather necessary materials, tools, and documentation for planned and reactive work.
- Investigate job sites to determine scope of work for reactive tasks.
- Prepare work sites, including scaffolding and safety preparations.
- Complete closeout activities, such as tool accountability, parts reconciliation, sanitation tagging, and production notifications.
- Inform the team about daily issues and actions via written communication.
- Help establish and implement preventative maintenance procedures for plant equipment.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting for electronic-controlled equipment, instrumentation, and data collection systems.
- Use test equipment, such as oscilloscopes and voltmeters, to troubleshoot and repair industrial control devices.
- Troubleshoot serial communication issues and devices like barcode readers, digital displays, RFID systems, etc.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and programming/troubleshooting skills, especially with industrial control systems like Allen-Bradley.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Programming and troubleshooting skills, preferably with Allen-Bradley systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot PLCs and Ladder logic.
- Willingness to participate in safety teams, including Hazmat.
- Journeyman License or equivalent in relevant technical area.
- 3 years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, single-lines, and wiring schematics.
- Ability to work weekend and off-shift hours as needed.
- Computer literacy and eagerness to learn new systems.
- Maintenance experience in food processing or similar environments.
- Ability to use test and calibration equipment, including RTD calibrators and digital multi-meters.
- Ability to troubleshoot 480 VAC 3-phase motor controls, 120 VAC, and 24 VDC control circuits.
- Journeyman-level certification or equivalent.
- Programming and troubleshooting skills, preferably with Allen-Bradley.
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
- Understanding and certification in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Troubleshooting skills with PLCs and Ladder logic.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize daily workload.
- Maintenance experience in manufacturing environments.
