The ideal candidate will have a solid mix of accounting, payroll, and tax preparation experience, along with the ability to manage client relationships independently and assist with ongoing financial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Over 5 years of experience in small business administration or controller-level roles.
- At least 2 years of experience preparing personal income tax returns in a professional accounting environment.
- Compile and analyze financial records to prepare accurate financial statements and reconcile key accounts.
- Process payroll for clients, including timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and year-end tax filings and related documentation.
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns under the supervision of a senior accountant or CPA.
- Address client inquiries related to financial and payroll matters.
- Maintain and support accounting software systems.
- Participate in special financial projects as assigned.
- Associate's degree required; accounting coursework or related experience preferred.
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial statement preparation and account reconciliation.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with payroll and tax return processing.
- Experience with tax preparation for individuals and small entities is an advantage.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Comfortable with learning and using accounting and tax software platforms.
- Experience with widely-used professional accounting software is a plus.
- Proven experience in independently managing client accounts.
