Summary
The Senior Information Security/Lead is responsible for supporting the implementation and oversight of information security (INFOSEC) regulations, including those related to classification and declassification, in accordance with relevant Executive Orders and Department of Defense (DoD) guidelines. This position involves conducting research, gap analysis, and providing guidance on the development of operational functions regarding INFOSEC.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and gap analysis on government best practices related to INFOSEC and classification/declassification procedures.
- Draft revisions of INFOSEC, classification, and declassification procedures for review.
- Provide research and guidance related to the development and maintenance of Security Classification Guides (SCGs).
- Draft and update training materials on classification and declassification policies and procedures.
- Facilitate INFOSEC training and audits for staff, both virtually and in-person.
- Maintain awareness of trained individuals and report deficiencies regularly.
- Support the creation of draft references, including regulations, executive orders, and case studies to assist in classification decisions.
- Review requests for classification and declassification, providing analysis and recommendations.
- Support specific requests related to policy, procedures, and guidance.
- Conduct monthly declassification reviews and provide recommendations regarding exempted materials and other agency equities.
- Prepare draft reports of classification and declassification actions on a quarterly basis.
- Maintain a record of new appointments and provide briefings on duties and responsibilities.
- Attend and provide meeting notes for related working groups and committees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- InfoSec Training.
- Knowledge of operational functions related to classification and declassification.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
