Key Responsibilities
- Design analog and digital electronics for ruggedized applications.
- Perform circuit tolerance analyses using hand calculations and simulation tools (e.g., Spice).
- Develop and refine product requirements and ensure compliance.
- Generate test plans and reports related to product performance, including design verification and qualification.
- Lead and direct test activities through all stages of the product development cycle.
- Conduct failure investigations using structured methods (e.g., 8D, Fishbone analysis).
- Lead design reviews and create materials for all product development phases.
- Serve as the primary technical interface with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to material and labor estimates for project proposals.
- Create Engineering Orders (EOs) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
- Mentor electrical engineering staff and lead multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with 7 years of experience, or 13 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience designing with analog building blocks, including differential amplifiers, op amps, filters, and data converters (5 years).
- Experience with basic digital building blocks, including logic gates, flip-flops, and timers (5 years).
- Experience with power conversion concepts (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC, Linear and Switching Supplies) (4 years).
- Experience with module design, including component selection, circuit analysis, and layout (4 years).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting using standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, meters, etc.) (5 years).
- Experience with modeling and simulation utilities (e.g., LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink) (4 years).
- Experience with schematic capture and board layout utilities (e.g., Altium, PADS) (4 years).
- Proven experience in leading large-scale technical projects from start to completion (4 years).
- Expertise in preparing and participating in design reviews and creating technical documentation (test plans, test reports, drawings, etc.) (4 years).
- 15 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with sensors (e.g., temperature, MEMs accelerometers, differential pressure sensors, GYROs) (4 years).
- Experience with serial communication buses (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C) (5 years).
- Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis (5 years).
- Experience with power supply and power conditioning design (5 years).
- Expertise in designing Electronic Safety and Arming Devices (ESADs) and Ignition Safety Devices (ISDs) per relevant standards (5 years).
- Experience presenting designs to Safety Review Boards (e.g., AFSRB, FISTRP) (5 years).
- Experience with energetic materials interfacing/testing (e.g., EFDIs, LEEFIs) (3 years).
