Responsibilities
- Drive and create innovative designs that prioritize customer needs.
- Create drawings, bills of materials, and manage projects from concept through completion.
- Provide quoting support, including scope of work development.
- Act as technical support for the sales team.
- Evaluate product designs in relation to material selection, cost, and reliability.
- Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure product manufacturability and resolve any production issues.
- Follow through on field tests and contribute new ideas and processes.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) is preferred.
- Design experience, including creating drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and project management.
- Design for manufacturability experience.
- Experience with sheet metal and structural fabrication, welding, and manufacturing techniques.
- Knowledge of electrical motors, controls, pneumatics, and hydraulics is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Experience with CAD systems such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on attitude.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
- Experience: 13 years in design engineering.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Inventor preferred, but SolidWorks or similar acceptable).
- Experience in creating engineering drawings, BOMs, and project management.
- Strong understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Hands-on experience with sheet metal, structural fabrication, welding, and manufacturing techniques.
- Experience working with vendors and customers.
- Ability to see projects through from design to manufacturing and support production.
- Familiarity with electrical motors, controls, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Experience with quoting and defining project scopes.
- Previous experience in field testing and process improvement.
