Job Description
This position supports the organization's Risk Management/ Patient Safety program through investigation and analysis of potential and actual adverse events, claims, and regulatory compliance and accreditation-related occurrences or deficiencies, participation in Root Cause and Intense Analyses, and relevant committee attendance. It performs risk analysis to ensure the protection of the organization's assets, investigates any incidents that may result in asset loss, and compiles findings in reports for further review, along with actual or potential injury to patients and visitors. The position also collects information necessary to prepare for the defense of claims. The Risk/Patient Safety Specialist develops and administers programs and interventions that support a safe environment and high-quality care for patients within the organization. This position promotes and models high reliability and performance improvement initiatives and projects throughout the organization.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a clinical discipline or healthcare-related field or equivalent education/experience
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- 5 years of healthcare-related experience in a responsible position requiring contact with various departments, with at least 2 of those years being clinical, patient-facing experience.
- Certification in Healthcare Quality or Healthcare Risk Management, or the ability to obtain within 3 years of hire
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Relevant risk management experience.
