Seeking for a professional, dynamic, career-oriented, reliable, and motivated individual for a full-time permanent position as a Project Manager/Estimator. This role is based in Wilmington, NC. The ideal candidate must have experience with 3D estimating software!
The position involves estimating projects and managing site work and utility construction projects, requiring the applicant to oversee project budgets and schedules.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects while simultaneously handling estimating duties, with experience in using 3D estimating software such as Carlson Civil Software and/or Ag-Tek.
- Manage site superintendents, vendors, and subcontractors, ensuring projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
- Serve as the primary communicator with project owners and/or engineers.
- Attend pre-bid meetings with owners, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Develop detailed and accurate bid proposals, including quantity take-offs, crew composition, and material/subcontractor pricing.
- Negotiate, secure, and manage subcontracts.
- Compare bid pricing to historical data.
- Read, outline, and communicate project specifications and plans to superintendents and foremen.
- Review material submittals and request approval.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring progress and budget tracking.
- Handle change order pricing and negotiations.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in site work and utility construction project management.
- A degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred.
- Proven experience estimating and managing civil site and utility construction projects.
- Knowledge of methods, crew composition, and production rates for all aspects of civil site and utility construction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project Standard scheduling software, with adaptability to various computer applications.
- Cost accounting experience is preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
- Effective communication skills.
