Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop stamping tooling, including strip layouts, simulations, die construction, and press specifications.
- Construct and develop progressive dies and tools for the production of steel outlet boxes.
- Implement maintenance and repair programs for production tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Inspect completed parts against die specifications to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with manufacturing standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues to minimize downtime and maintain smooth workflow.
- Collaborate with engineering and Master Die Makers to improve die designs and enhance production efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of die maintenance, repairs, and modifications for future reference.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and die performance.
- Track and report progress of tooling programs from sourcing to production readiness.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience designing complex, progressive stamping dies.
- Proficiency with lean manufacturing tools/elements, such as VSM, 5S, Standard Work, Set-Up Reduction, etc.
- Experience with Servo Press and knowledge of die sensors, vision inspection, or related technologies.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards, including participation in audits.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for stamping operations.
- Understanding of ANSI/ISO drawing standards and GD&T dimensioning.
- Experience with Wire EDM and/or CNC machining technologies.
- Knowledge of tool steels and their applications.
