Seeking a dedicated Shelter Veterinarian to lead a high-impact medical program, improve shelter medicine protocols, and champion animal welfare. This role offers the opportunity to combine clinical expertise with community outreach, ensuring thousands of animals receive the care they deserve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Veterinary Care: Perform high-volume spay/neuter surgeries, emergency procedures, and preventive care for shelter animals.
- Program Development: Shape medical guidelines, train staff, and collaborate with local universities to advance best practices in shelter medicine.
- Animal Welfare Advocacy: Support animal cruelty investigations, provide forensic expertise, and offer expert testimony in legal cases.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor veterinary technicians and shelter staff to maintain high medical standards and compassionate care.
- Community Engagement: Participate in public health initiatives, community clinics, and partnerships to expand access to veterinary services.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree
- Active Tennessee veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
