Laser Operator - Weekend Day Shift (Friday-Sunday 6am-6pm)
SPS is looking for a self-motivated, energetic individual who is ready to thrive in our rapidly growing organization. Switchgear Power Systems was founded in 2007 as a manufacturer of power distribution and control equipment. We manufacture primarily medium voltage equipment and enclosures (5-38kV), with applications in the utility, heavy industrial, renewable energy markets.
Overall Responsibility
- Set-up/run laser programs according to existing programs.
- Make necessary adjustments on tooling due to sheet size and type.
- Set-up/run machine according to programs and preset parameters.
- Make necessary adjustments to laawe parameters for best edge quality and cut speed.
Key Job Duties (not exhaustive)
- Produce parts from metal using the Amada laser.
- Ability to look at blueprints or plans for the finished product, make adjustments to the machine to control speed, material feed and path of the cut
- Set the Laser up properly to produce quality product.
- Make sure Laser is working at full capacity, is stocked with needed materials
- Maintain Laser and perform periodic checks on output.
- Ability to look at the finished product to ensure it is defect-free and ready for the next step in production.
- Able to use measuring equipment: tape measure, micrometer, square, protractor, etc.
- Understand mathematics to verify job requirements and specifications.
- Hold high quality standards to meet customer specifications.
- Follow company policy and standards.
- Keep work centers clean and orderly.
- Able to take and follow directives.
Required Skills and Experience
- 1 years Fabrication/Manufacturing experience.
- 1 years Laser operator experience

- Strong communication skills (written, verbal).
- Strong blue-print reading skills with attention to detail.
