JOB TITLE: Quality Nurse Specialist

The Specialist will be charged with carrying out necessary workflows and helping to grow SWLA’s Quality/Value-Based Care initiatives program that not only safeguards quality of the care given to our patients, but also ensures that care is rendered in an efficient and timely way.
Objectives of this Role:
- Interpret, build upon, and comply with company Quality, Value-based care and Evidence-based care initiatives.
- Maintain compliance and non-conformance processing through records and tracking systems, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Document healthcare quality activities with internal reporting and audits.
- Develop improved standards for production and design, and create testing protocols for implementation across all service lines.
- Identify training needs and take action to ensure company-wide compliance.
- Pursue continuing education in new solutions, technologies, and skills.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and monitor quality initiatives, such as patient outreach and Care Gap closures.
- Assist operations by tracking, documenting, and reporting quality metrics, as well as patient satisfaction and other health and safety KPIs
- Investigate deterioration of workflows and address, as well as report and educate to prevent future complications.
- Recommend and develop procedures for capture, investigation, and documentation and tracking of quality metrics.
- Utilize data and analytics to monitor initiatives on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis and track progress year over year.
- Provide training and support to providers and clinic staff that covers systems, policies, procedures, and core processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with a Louisiana license.
- Understanding of quality metrics and Value-Based Care initiatives or a strong willingness to learn and grow.
- Expert computer skills, such as use of MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Evidence-based care and best practices and using this knowledge to guide initiatives.
- Active BLS License.
- A positive attitude and excellent work ethic.
- Ability to work as a team and within an interdisciplinary environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with Azara, Tableau or other databases a plus.
- Experience with eCW and other EMRs.
- Understanding of agile/scrum methodology and how QA functions within it.
- Ability to speak Spanish fluently.
