Job Title : IT - Packaging Engineer
Job Description : This role will focus on delivery of a consistent product and computing experience to the Zurich North America workforce. The Packaging Engineer role will expand End User Computing capabilities in these areas as well as address Software packaging, testing.
The End User Computing (EUC) Software Packaging Engineer will be responsible for :
- All aspects of software packaging and distribution
- Performing start to finish software packaging services, intake, build, customization, testing, and delivery
- Perform software upgrades, new installs, uninstalls, and configuration changes
- Ensuring compliance with local and global guidelines
- Troubleshoot and remediate packaging and deployment related issues
- Working closely with EUC Platform team to support implementing policies, procedures, and systems
- Other duties as assigned
Other responsibilities will include :
Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaintsWork closely with EUC Platform manager to support implementing policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementationPerform software packaging, testing process, ensure compliance at local and globalProvide incident resolution support that ensures end user satisfactionBuilt application / packages in Intune win format.Collaborated with App Owners to ensure applications are packaged properly and testedDocument the software distribution steps and communicate with end users on the expected result during the software pushBasic Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Information Systems areaExpert knowledge working with MSI / EXE installersExpert knowledge using PSAppDeploy ToolkitExpert knowledge of creating and working with MST'sExpert knowledge packaging / repackagingExcellent scripting knowledge PowerShell, Batch, VBWorking experience with Flexera Admin Studio or equivalentWorking experience with Intune / Microsoft Endpoint Manager / SCCMPreferred Qualifications :
Strong problem-solving analytical skillsAble to develop and drive initiatives with minimal oversight or guidanceExcellent written and verbal communication and presentation skillsExperience in Software packaging which includes packaging of Software, Testing Incident resolution.Experience in using Industry standard software packaging software like Flexera Admin Studio.Experience in tools like Service now, Active DirectoryExperience in hardware troubleshootingKnowledge about Microsoft Config Manager (Previously known as SCCM), Microsoft Intune toolsExperience in management test collection for packages, deployments.Experience in developing PowerShell scripts to automate any of the repeated processes.Experience in customizing software package using the wrapperKnowledge of Windows 10 / 11 / Windows 365 / Office 365OTHER NOTES :
Must be local to Schaumburg IL, hybrid 3 days on siteSeeking a flexible worker for a 6 month period (with potential for conversion) to assist our team with backlogged projects and workload.
