What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Data Science position at Swoon?
Swoon is actively seeking a Head of Data Science to join the team!
What will your day-to-day look like?
- Develop decision support and predictive solutions for customers and staff
- Leverage AI for pattern recognition and beyond while optimizing business outcomes and gain insights from big data
- Manage the development of a team of professional to conduct advanced analytics leveraging predictive modeling, machine learning, data mining, data visualizations, simulation and optimization.
- Manage data scientists in the use of advanced statistical, machine learning, and artificial intelligence methodologies
- Work with the analytics delivery and technology to enable appropriate data flow and data models, development tools, rapid prototyping and inform the design of analytics
What’s required?
- 5-9 years of leadership experience in managing advanced analytics organizations
- 5 years of retail, ecommerce, manufacturing, or tire manufacturing industry
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience developing statistics, machine learning, or AI solutions
- Experience supporting multiple business segments, including marketing, inventory, pricing, operations, etc.
- Manage a team of highly skilled professionals remotely across various locations and time zones
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Master’s Degree or higher in education; preferably in computer science, data science, or business administration

- Direct-Hire / Full-Time Role
- Salary - $175-$220,000 plus annual bonus
