Position Overview:
The Sr. Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) Training Content Developer is a subject matter expert in maintaining and designing curriculum courses that enhance the technical skills for M&E personnel. As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to develop and acquire eLearning (computer-based) materials and work with the instructors to deliver effective lessons.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a subject matter expert in curriculum design, develops training products for Maintenance and Engineering employees.
- Develops Electronic Lessons for delivery and generates reports through the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Exercise judgment to write and revise content deliverables per approved content plans, ensuring content deliverables adhere to established standards.
- Develop design specifications, storyboard, and interactions.
- Identifies knowledge gaps within the training programs, analyzes course content, and makes recommendations to other subject matter experts for enhancements to classroom training.
- With minimal direction from leadership, coordinates informal and formal reviews with subject matter experts and other applicable team members
- Influences peer edits for other developers including but not limited to editing, adherence to established standards, and consistency
- Responds to requests for content updates in all areas to ensure delivery of high-quality products.
- Reports to the Supervisor of Technical Training Infrastructure.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Instructional Design, Education, Business, Communication, or a related field, or two years of experience in a related area instead of this degree required.
- Knowledge and ability to create compelling interactive training utilizing best practices/methodologies of instructional design.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint.
- Specific knowledge of authoring tools, such as Articulate.
- Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, and the ability to guide discussion on unfamiliar topics.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to address multiple projects and tasks while adhering to project schedules and deadlines, resolve conflicts caused by competing schedules and priorities, and adjust workloads appropriately.
- Ability to create interactive training from technical information.
- Ability to act as a consultant applying content development methodology, standards, and practices.
