Initial one-year Logistics Analyst opportunity in Athens, GA

Location: Flexible hybrid in support of the client’s office in Athens, GA (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Duration: Initial one-year contract with high potential to extend/convert based on performance

Overview/Notes from Hiring Manager:

• 2-parts to this role in terms of responsibilities:
• One half: TPA – third party authorization
• Setting up shipments for other teams within the division
• This role is on the transportation team, however if outside of normal flow (sale to a dealer, facility purchasing a part from a supplier), then the person in this role will help set up manual shipments
• Ex: Endurance testing for high altitude – engineer wants to test new model in CO (where there is a higher altitude), the engineer comes to the person in this role for help arranging transport from location A to location B. The person in this role sets up shipment, and manages shipment from pickup to delivery (think dispatch). Work with carriers and answer questions if driver has questions when they arrive, etc.
• Other half: Cost reduction projects
• Inbound and outbound areas that they touch, opportunities for cost reductions throughout (something as little as saving $100, to as big as hundreds of thousands of dollars, etc.)
• Focus on efficiency regarding costs

Typical task breakdown:

• Collaborate with team on efficiency studies and projects
• Work with engineers and carriers to manage TPA requests
• Walk the yard for shuttle efficiency/projects
• Audit outbound shuttle utilization

Interaction with team:

• Collaboration with outside carriers as well as internal teams
• Individual analysis/audits

Education & Experience Required:

• 3 years experience required (any amount higher will be considered)
• High School or GED equivalent (any higher form of education will be considered)

Technical Skills:

• Ability to prioritize in a fast pace environment
• Handle multiple tasks/projects at one time
• Ability to respond quickly to inquiries
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel – Data entry, reviewing documents)
