SUMMARY OF POSITION :
The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing secure, scalable, cost-effective, cutting-edge infrastructure solutions, ensuring that our infrastructure and applications are secure, performant, cost-effective, and provide a great user experience, and developing clear, concise, and accurate documentation that details our systems, design decisions, and operational procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to create scalable and secure infrastructure architectures
- Design and build reusable tooling and automation to simplify infrastructure tasks, such as deployment scripts, configuration management tools, and infrastructure provisioning frameworks
- Establish and maintain standards for security, availability, and performance across our infrastructure and applications, and work with teams to ensure these standards are met
- Keep track of infrastructure costs and optimize to ensure we are operating in a cost-effective manner.
- Design and implement comprehensive monitoring and dashboarding solutions to provide real-time visibility into infrastructure and application performance, and to enable proactive issue detection and resolution
- Develop and implement processes for investigating deviations from our standards, including root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and implementation of fixes to prevent recurrence and improve overall reliability
- Act as a trusted advisor and consultant to other teams, providing guidance on infrastructure best practices, architecture, and design, and helping them to leverage the reusable tooling and automation to meet their specific needs and goals
- Develop and maintain clear, concise, and accurate documentation that details our systems, design decisions, and operational procedures, including runbooks and system-wide architecture diagrams
