About the Project:
Swoon has an exciting long-term contract opportunity with a major airline, who is actively seeking two Technical Writers to join their team! You will be supporting an exciting initiative to install antennas to their aircrafts. This role involves creating and updating technical manuals while ensuring compliance with aviation standards and engineering modifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM) and Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPC).
- Work within the Boeing Toolbox.
- Author and update technical documents using XML.
- Apply engineering changes to manuals in compliance with aviation regulations.
- Support daily operations of the engineering teams by maintaining accurate documentation.
- Perform tags and attribute adjustments within technical content.
- Integrate figures and illustrations into digital technical manuals.
- Incorporate Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) changes into documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and remain involved in key technical activities.
- Ensure compliance with aviation standards, specifically ATA iSpec 2200 and S1000D.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the aviation or aerospace industry.
- Proficiency in XML authoring tools and structured documentation.
- Strong understanding of aviation technical manuals, engineering documentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with Boeing Toolbox is highly desirable.
- Ability to collaborate with engineers and technical teams to translate complex information into clear, user-friendly documentation.
