Overview
The Clinic Business Manager in our neuro-optometry clinic is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all employees, business to business relationships, and long-term business strategy of the practice. This role combines healthcare management with business acumen, ensuring the clinic operates efficiently, profitably, and in compliance with healthcare regulations. The individual must have experience working within the eye care industry in order to be considered.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the clinic, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
- Oversee staff performance, including hiring, training, and evaluating team members (at least annually).
- Implement utilization management strategies to optimize resource allocation and improve patient outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO standards and ensure proper documentation of medical records in collaboration with the neuro-optometrists/clinicians
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement policies that enhance clinic efficiency.
- Manage patient scheduling, billing processes, and insurance verification.
- Utilize practice management software (such as Epic, Crystal Practice Management, and others) for tracking patient information and managing records.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional development.
- Manage relationships with medical insurance, workers' compensation, and auto insurance.
- Develop and maintain external stakeholder relationships to ensure the clinic is meeting and exceeding expectations from their referrals.
- Prospectively developing business strategies to improve clinic operations and patient care.
- Meeting regularly with the leadership team to address challenges of the practice, problem-solving, and implementing strategies discussed.
- Maintain business to business relationships of the practice that include: clinical trials, attorney offices, medical clinics, industry executives/representatives, and many other important stakeholders.
- Maintain financial and developing strategies to improve the overall function of the practice (QuickBooks, accounting team).
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office management or practice management, preferably in eye care
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Background in the eye care industry (greater than 10 years)
- Technology savy (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and much more!)
- Proficiency in managing medical records and utilizing electronic health record systems.
- A commitment to continuous improvement in clinical practices and patient care standards.
- Prospective learning - willingness to complete educational courses, certificates, or courses to execute the job role better (we believe in constant learning)

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
