What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adolescent SUD Counselor position at Swope Health Services?
As a Adolescent SUD Counselor for Swope Health Services, you will be part of a team of caregivers to provide care for the people who need it most. As a Adolescent SUD Counselor, you are responsible for providing SUD services to adolescent clients ages 12-17 and their families. Services include completion of substance use disorder assessments, individual and family counseling, and group facilitation. The Adolescent SUD Counselor will provide other services per program requirements.
Successful Candidates will have:
- Complete behavioral health assessments along with other members of the behavioral health assessment team.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on all evaluation and assessment recommendations and needs of the
client. - Perform individual, family and group therapy utilizing approved treatment approaches as sanctioned by Swope Health
Behavioral Health Department in various service locations. - Completion and timely submission of accurate clinical documentation that includes, but not limited to the Psychosocial, Treatment Plan, Progress Notes, Treatment Plan Reviews, and Discharge Summaries.
- Submit accurate and timely billing documentation consistent with the requirements of the particular payer or contract, i.e. Missouri Department of Mental Health, MoHealthNet, private insurance, or the Jackson County Community Mental Health Fund, etc
- Provide individual assistance to persons with accessing needed substance use and mental health services
- Be an active member of the treatment team including coordinating care of clients and facilitating/participating in
treatment team meetings as scheduled. - Meet expected productivity standards.
- Provide community education through presentations, as assigned.
- Must complete annual agency trainings as required by Swope Health and participate in ongoing trainings to meet
continued education licensure requirements and department needs. - Attend ADA department and Swope Health required meetings.

Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, social work, Criminal Justice , Communication, Sociology, Chemical Dependency, Counseling, nursing or related field.
- Credentials needed: CADC, CRADC, CRAADC, CCJP, CCDP, CCDP-D, RADC, RADC-P
