What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outpatient Children's Therapy Supervisor position at Swope Health Services?
The Outpatient Children’s Therapy Supervisor will make care visible through being responsible for the provision of therapy services to clients and their families addressing behavioral health concerns that prevent the wholesome functioning in daily life activities. Responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Outpatient Services and clinical support and leadership to his/her peers.
Successful Candidate will have:
- Perform Intake Assessments and Annuals.
- Completion of clinical documentation that includes the Psychosocial History, Treatment Planning, Progress Notes, and Discharge Summaries, within established guidelines and time frames.
- Provide individual and group therapy utilizing evidence-based treatment approaches as sanctioned by the Swope Health Behavioral Health Department.
- Collaborate with other treatment providers and/or programs to best meet client needs.
- Submit accurate and timely billing documentation consistent with the requirements of the particular payor or contract, i,e Department of Mental Health, MoHealthNet, private insurance, or the Jackson County Community Mental Health Fund, etc.
- Meet set productivity standard.
- Monitor caseloads and provide referrals as needed to keep caseloads full in adherence within established guidelines and time frames.
- Provide key leadership in Continuous Performance Improvement activities, specifically, auditing and monitoring of Outpatient Services clinical documentation, to include conducting and analyzing peer reviews, comprehensive chart reviews, outcome measurement and reporting finding to the Director of Outpatient Services.
- Provide leadership in conducting consultation meetings.
- Supervise a team of Outpatient Adult Therapists.
- Conduct Monthly Team Meetings.
- Conduct Monthly Individual Supervisions.
- Monitor Outpatient Adult Therapists’ productivity.
- Be available to assist in mental health crises if the need arises.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling and Guidance or related field.
- Preferred Licensed as Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Five years of clinical experience with children and families with serious and emotional disturbance.
- Working knowledge of the current DSM and the ability to assess mental health disorders.
- Possess knowledge about community resources.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely.
- Knowledge of Trauma-Informed and Strength-Based Practices.
- Awareness and understanding of cultural and ethnic diversity of clients, staff and other community partners.
