Job Summary:
The Electrician’s primary duties are performing skilled journey-level work in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical circuitry and equipment. Acts as a resource for the Physical Plant department and builds effective, strong working relationships to enhance department operations and functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide support services to the department in a manner that professionally, cordially, and efficiently assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors
- Participate in correcting problems associated with wiring throughout the campus
- Establish and assist in ensuring the proper working and testing of electrical wiring for the campus
- Plan and complete work from initial layout to final assembly by interpreting and applying oral instructions, plans, specifications, blueprints and work orders
- Organize and ensure needed supplies and equipment are on site and accounted for at the end of the workday
- Assist in maintaining supply inventory of material
- Assist in other areas as requested
- Specific assignments are based on unit need and assigned by the supervisor which could include such things installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing electrical systems
