What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASSOCIATE SPECIALIST - SPECIALIST - Electronics Group - Purchasing position at SWRI?
Solicitates, negotiates, awards, documents and administrates purchase orders to SwRI vendors to support SwRI Overhead or SwRI (Government and Commercial) projects, in accordance with SwRI General Terms and Conditions.
Conducts market research and cost / price analysis to ensure the best source and a fair and reasonable price
Provides written documentation to support the purchases based on purchasing operation policy and procedures
Assists with management of vendor performance, quality assurance and successful completion of contracted tasks.
Resolves issues as they occur and perform other duties as necessary in accordance with SwRI Purchasing Policies and Procedures, accounting policies, FAR / DFARS and other federal regulations, Desktop guides and on the job training.
Reviews purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness including proper charge number and approval, quality assurance, CUI requirements etc.
Sends out requests for proposal as necessary, adhering to SwRI business practices and Desktop guides.
Perform supplier sourcing as needed.
Create new vendors and maintain vendor contact information.
Expedite orders to ensure on time delivery.
Receives, reviews, and analyzes vendor proposals.
Work with suppliers to obtain necessary support documentation to show fair and reasonable pricing.
Discuss quality assurance requirements with the vendor.
Negotiate terms and conditions, pricing and delivery.
Organizes and produces all documentations to support the purchases based on Purchasing OPP and / or FAR / DFARS and other federal regulations.
Requires a Bachelors degree in Business or related fields with related experience.
0-5 years : Experience administering and price justification of Purchase Orders under government contracts; performing market research and price or cost analysis in detail and documenting results.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Direct experience in Purchasing is preferred.
Excellent organization skills and Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Must have a high level of motivation, attention to detail, and energetic approach to job duties.
