POSITION AVAILABLE: Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Coordinator
POSITION LOCATION: Placement within the SWWC Service Cooperative region serving our Educational Learning Centers in Cosmos, Marshall, Montevideo, New London, Pipestone, and Windom, MN.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Coordinator provides leadership and direction to ensure high-quality curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices across the Educational Learning Centers (ELCs). This position works collaboratively with administrators, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to implement research-based instructional strategies, ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines, and support student achievement through effective assessment and intervention practices. The coordinator also plays a key role in supporting multilingual learners, implementing tiered supports, and ensuring data-driven decision-making for continuous program improvement.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Develop and implement research-based curriculum aligned with state standards and alternative education strategies.
- Collaborate with administrators and teaching staff to provide professional development on instructional best practices, culturally responsive teaching, and differentiated instruction.
- Support instructional frameworks, including multi-tiered systems of support (MnMTSS), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and behavior interventions;
- Oversee assessment administration, data analysis, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Coordinate English language development services and support multilingual learners.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations, including Title III of ESSA and IDEA, ensuring proper identification, placement, and services for multilingual students.
- Support teams in the development and refinement of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) to improve student outcomes.
- Facilitate collaboration among general education, special education, and student support staff to ensure comprehensive, student-centered interventions;
- Plan and facilitate training sessions for staff on curriculum, instruction, assessment, behavior interventions, and multilingual learner support;
- Regularly engage with administrators, educators, and external stakeholders to remain informed of best practices and evolving educational standards;
- Regular and prompt attendance is essential;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Special Education, TESOL, or a related field preferred; minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in K-12 settings, with experience in alternative education or special education strongly preferred; valid Minnesota Teaching License in a relevant subject area required; valid driver's license required.
SALARY: This full-time (185-day) position begins on August 6, 2025, for the 2025-2026 school year. Bachelor’s degree salary range of $50,855 to $71,248. Master’s salary range of $60,646 to $92,477. PhD salary range of $70,196 to $94,068. Salary depending on education, qualifications, abilities, and experience. The role includes excellent benefits, details of which can be found here.
