POSITION AVAILABLE: Youth Mental Health Navigator (multiple positions available)

POSITION LOCATION: Southwest West Central Service Cooperative (SWWC) serving the Educational Learning Centers (ELCs) and Alternative Learning Centers (ALCs) in the SWWC region.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Youth Mental Health Navigator will provide navigation services in our Educational Learning Centers, Alternative Learning Centers and other SWWC sites as needed by proactively collaborating with caregivers, school staff, and local mental and physical health providers to help families access appropriate community resources to support improved mental health outcomes and well-being for youth.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:This role involves collaborating with school staff, caregivers, and mental health providers to support youth in accessing community mental health resources and services. It includes assisting families in navigating the mental health system to ensure youth receive timely, quality, and culturally competent care. Maintaining effective and professional relationships with local mental health providers and relevant professionals is essential to supporting youth experiencing social and emotional concerns. The position advocates for children and families, working closely with school personnel and other agencies to promote a better understanding of students' educational and personal needs. Engaging with families to gather information and provide support, participating in meetings with parents, teachers, administrators, and other professionals, and maintaining appropriate documentation of family and child involvement are key responsibilities. Additionally, the role requires accurate record-keeping of referrals, student and family data, and available resources while ensuring adherence to due process procedures and compliance requirements. Providing excellent public relations and customer service to member districts, staff, parents, and the general public is essential. Following all policies and regulations, maintaining regular and prompt attendance, and performing other assigned duties are also integral to this position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in social work required, Master’s in social work preferred; moderate job related experience. MN Licensure as a School Social Worker required; valid driver’s license required.

CONTRACT/SALARY: This full-time (185-day) position begins on August 6, 2025, for the 2025-2026 school year. Bachelor’s degree salary range of $50,855 to $71,248. Master’s salary range of $60,646 to $92,477. PhD salary range of $70,196 to $94,068. Salary depending on education, qualifications, abilities, and experience.
