Production Team Lead

Ensure all Sy-Klone products meet the high quality and delivery expectations of both the external customers and internal requirements. Safely lead, train, and coordinate the assembly and packaging of heavy equipment air intake components including non-powered precleaners, powered air systems, air filters, assembly kits and associated hardware. Organize and monitor workflows to ensure daily production targets are met.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Promote safety and proper operating procedures within the department.
• Coordinate the assembly and packing of complex air intake components and associated hardware.
• Lead the production staff to ensure all orders are built RFT (right first time) and ready to ship on time.
• Train current and new employees on policies, procedures, and job functions.
• Coordinate with supervisors, materials staff, and production planner on assigning daily workloads to personnel, monitoring progress, resolving problems and reporting results.
• Understand and adhere to job-related ISO 9001 & 14001 standards and policies.
• Ensure safe operation of equipment by identifying repair needs.
• Maintain safe and clean work environment.
• Maintain and foster communication and strong teamwork within the operation departments.
• Resolves personnel issues and escalates problems to leadership as appropriate.
• Collaborate with engineering and/or quality departments regarding processes and quality issues and improvement.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of safety, quality, delivery, and cost/waste reduction through active cross function communication.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement efforts of increased safety, quality, delivery, as well as cost reduction through active cross functional communication.
• Quality Commitment – Individually and as a team member support Sy-Klone’s purpose and vision, with a daily focus on compliance to Sy-Klone systems, policies and procedures, supported by a continuous quality and process improvement mindset.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong reading and writing skills are a must.
• Ability to do basic math such as adding, subtracting, multiplication and division.
• Ability to safely and efficiently use basic shop tools such as portable power tools, tape measures, screwdrivers, and hammers.
• Ability to lead, coach, train and motivate associates.
• Good communicator and team builder.
• Ability to read shop manuals, build orders and product drawings, and apply information to accurately build products.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience using an ERP system (SAP, Oracle etc.). Syspro experience is a plus.
• At least three years of experience in a manufacturing environment required. Some supervisory experience a plus.
• Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of work in an industrial warehouse environment including production lines, un-even walk areas, and motorized industrial equipment.
• May be required to utilize ladders or work from heights on occasion. May need to utilize provided personal protective equipment including glasses, hearing protection, or respirator protection if required.
• Must be able to stand for long periods, climb, stoop, bend, and conduct work at waist level.
• Must be able to lift up to 30lbs at times and 20lbs regularly.
• Normal auditory, visual acuity, depth perception and peripheral vision, ambulation and dexterity
