We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Desktop Support Technician to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to end-users, ensuring that all desktop systems and applications are functioning optimally. This role requires a strong understanding of various operating systems and the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level support for desktop hardware, software, and network issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to Windows, Mac OS, and Linux operating systems.
- Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Utilize SCCM for software deployment, updates, and inventory management.
- Assist with VPN configurations and troubleshooting remote connectivity issues.
- Monitor and manage firewall settings to ensure network security.
- Document all support interactions in a ticketing system for tracking purposes.
- Collaborate with other IT team members on projects and escalated issues.
- Provide training and guidance to end-users on best practices for technology use.
Experience
- Proven experience in IT support roles with a focus on desktop support.
- Strong knowledge of Windows, Mac OS, Linux operating systems, and Windows Server environments.
- Familiarity with SCCM for system management tasks.
- Experience in network administration including VPN setup and firewall management is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively assist users of varying technical proficiency.
