Job Title: Senior Desktop Support Specialist
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Desktop Support Specialist to provide top-notch technical support for our organization's desktop infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in desktop support, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of desktop hardware, software, and operating systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide advanced technical support for desktop-related issues, including hardware, software, and operating system problems.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, both in-person and remotely.
3. Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware and software, including operating systems, applications, and peripherals.
4. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including knowledge base articles and troubleshooting guides.
5. Collaborate with other IT teams, such as Network and Server Administration, to resolve technical issues and improve overall IT infrastructure.
6. Provide training and guidance to junior desktop support staff and end-users on desktop-related topics.
7. Participate in IT projects, such as desktop upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
8. Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
Requirements
1. 10 years of experience in desktop support, with a strong focus on hardware, software, and operating systems.
2. In-depth knowledge of desktop operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
3. Strong understanding of desktop hardware, including laptops, desktops, printers, and peripherals.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
6. Experience with IT service management tools, such as ServiceNow, JIRA, or BMC Helix.
7. Strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Nice to Have
1. ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent.
2. Experience with scripting languages, such as PowerShell or Bash.
3. Knowledge of cloud-based technologies, such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services.
4. Experience with desktop virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Citrix.
