Position Summary:
The Strategic Sourcing and Commodity Director has a pivotal role within the organization responsible for leading sourcing strategies to optimize the supply chain, reduce costs, and enhance business performance. Reporting to the President of SyBridge Digital Solutions and Supply Chain, this leader will collaborate with divisional leaders and functional teams to develop and execute strategies that drive business growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for commodities across multiple divisions to align with business objectives.
- Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities while ensuring quality, reliability, and innovation.
- Drive supplier consolidation and rationalization initiatives to create a streamlined and efficient supply base.
- Leads initiatives related to procurement processes (ie., PO consolidation, systems improvements, etc).
- Lead commodity planning, including market analysis, risk assessment, and long-term supplier partnerships.
- Monitor global market trends and provide insights to guide procurement decisions and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Negotiate and manage contracts to ensure favorable terms, compliance, and sustainability.
- Work closely with divisional leaders to align sourcing strategies with operational and business goals.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among procurement, operations, engineering, and finance teams.
- Act as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders, fostering alignment between sourcing activities and business needs.
- Lead supplier performance reviews and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Provide leadership and direction to sourcing teams across the organization.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation.
- Mentor and develop team members, building capabilities in strategic sourcing and commodity management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management in a matrixed, cross-divisional environment.
- Proven experience managing complex commodity strategies and global supplier relationships, including BCC.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in leveraging digital tools and technologies to enhance sourcing and supply chain processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
